Best of Ugandan Safari

This 14-day best Ugandan Tours unveils the beauties and wonders of the majestic Murchison Falls National Park, also known as Kabalega Falls, a waterfall between Lake Kyoga and Lake Albert on the Victoria Nile in Uganda with several activities such as game drives, boat cruises, the beautiful Queen Elizabeth national park located in the western part of Uganda in the district of Rubirizi. It is one of the newly created Parks having been a forest reserve and it has been a national park since 1995. It’s home to 70 mammal species most famously 13 species of primates including the chimpanzee and over 350 bird species as well as exploration of Bwindi, the impenetrable National Park.

Tour Plan

On this day you will be picked up by our driver/guide from the airport for your transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Accommodation: Papyrus Guest House (Mid-range) OR Zest Western Guest House

Pick up from the hotel to start the journey to Murchison Falls for a fun adventure in the wilderness. There will be a stopover at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary which is home to white Rhinos, you will walk alongside a trained ranger as you observe these magnificent giant creatures and a variety of bird species. After you will proceed to Murchison falls national park, check into your hotel and rest as you prepare for a night game drive. At 7pm head for a night game drive where you will witness the park’s nocturnal wildlife like the lions, leopards and hyenas hunting for

their prey then after transfer back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Cruise

After breakfast, you will start your day with a game drive through Murchison Falls National Park. Here you will get to see a number of different bird species and animals like lions, buffaloes, Uganda KOB,

Elephants and hippopotamuses are widely spread all over the Savannah grasslands, grazing or hunting for prey. This makes the park’s landscape so amazing for game viewing/game driving. You will head back to your hotel for lunch and after proceed with a boat cruise while on the cruise you will see hippos, waterbucks, crocodiles, buffalos, and elephants. Water birds like fish eagles, ducks, and the shoe bill. You will lastly head to the top of the falls, and enjoy the view of Murchison Falls National Park and the Albert Delta. You will also enjoy the birds flying over and get a chance to see many butterflies while you enjoy photography. After which you will head back to the hotel to rest, and freshen up as you wait for dinner.

Have breakfast then head to the Top of the falls where the Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge and cascades with incredible force, enjoy the breathtaking

views of Murchison Falls and the Albert Delta with birds and butterflies flying over while capturing stunning photos. After proceeding to Kibale National Park with a scenic drive through Uganda’s beautiful landscapes, have a stopover for lunch along the way, and then proceed to the park. On arrival, check-in for relaxation as you wait for dinner.

Have breakfast in the Morning, then head to the park headquarters where you will be briefed about the rules & regulations of Chimpanzee trekking, start your journey through the lush tropical forest as you track these primates, you will spot a variety of bird species and other primates like the monkeys, you will be allowed one hour with the chimpanzees once spotted as you observe them in their natural habitat, watch their interactions and sounds while taking memorable pictures. After trekking, head back to the headquarters to receive your Chimpanzee tracking certificates then transfer to the Bigodi community where you will enjoy an organic local dish for your

lunch proceed with interactions with community locals as you learn about their culture and the various community projects. You can buy some of the souvenirs made from the wetlands. Head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to Semuliki National Park enjoying the scenic route through the Albertine Rift Valley. This park is the birders' haven with a lot of foreign bird species that are

endemic to the Central African forests. You will take a nature walk through the diverse forest experiencing the unique biodiversity of the park, spotting a variety of bird species, butterflies, and primates,and  continue to the famous hot springs. The Sampaya hot springs are divided into the female and male sections. The temperatures are greatly high at the female hot springs with the capability of boiling an egg. After reaching both hot springs, take photos and enjoy the views.

Head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park with you as you enjoy beautiful sceneries through tea plantations, crater lakes, and rolling hills. Upon arrival, check-in at the lodge, have lunch and relax, later in the afternoon you will head to the Kazinga Channel for a relaxing boat cruise. You will watch the abundance of wildlife such as elephants,
buffaloes, hippos and crocodiles, and many birds including herons, and crested cranes among others, and enjoy photography. After the cruise, transfer back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

You will begin your day with an experiential game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will track the big Cats like the Lions and Leopards hunting for their prey. Learn about their behaviors and territories. You will also spot other wildlife like Elephants, Antelopes, and Warthogs to mention but a few. Return back to your lodge for breakfast and relaxation. After lunch, embark on a community tour to Katwe Salt Lake which is used for salt extraction by the local communities, you will learn about the traditional methods of salt mining and interact with the Miners as well as hear about their daily lives and the history of salt production in the region. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, transfer to Lake Mburo National Park as you enjoy the beautiful landscapes all along the journey, arrival at the park, check into your lodge, settle in, and relax as you enjoy the nature
surrounding the hotel. In the evening, head out for a game drive around the park where you will spot a variety of wildlife like Zebras, Impalas, and Warthogs to mention but a few. After returning to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 10: Walking Safari After breakfast, transfer to Lake Mburo,

Head out for a walking safari with a guide. Explore the park on foot and track wildlife such as Zebras, antelopes, and giraffes to mention but a few, this walking safari is the best way to connect with nature and learn about the smaller details of the ecosystem. After the walking safari, return to the lodge, have lunch and enjoy the lodge amenities like swimming and others.

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and depart for Lake Bunyonyi which is one of Uganda’s most scenic Lake located in Kabale. You will enjoy the rolling hills and lush landscapes all along the journey. Arrival in Lake Bunyonyi, check in the lodge.
After lunch, head out for a peaceful boat ride as you sail through the serene waters. You will pass by small islands like the punishment island where young girls who got pregnant before marriage were thrown. You
will enjoy the panoramic views of the green hills as you listen to a variety of birdsongs, as the lake is home to different bird species. After the boat ride, return to your lodge, freshen up, and wait for dinner to be served.

Have a leisurely breakfast at the lodge, checkout, and meet up with the driver to transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Upon arrival at the lodge, check into your room and settle in for the day as you enjoy nature with the beautiful sounds of the birds and forest.
In the evening, you can opt for a nature walk and hike through the forest where you will be able to observe the forest in a new way through the eyes of the original people of the forest, “The Batwa” You will be able to learn how they lived in huts built with grass in the forest, hunted small animals as food, how they used their traps and nets, you will learn
how they prepare their staple food and also get a chance to taste it, further more you will enjoy their legendary stories, songs, and dances while interacting with them.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Early Morning breakfast, then head to the park headquarters for a briefing about the Gorilla trekking rules, guidelines, and expectations during the trek. In a group of about 8 people, you will begin your journey into the forest to look for the gorillas, the trek may last between 1-4 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. Once the gorillas are spotted, you will be allowed 1 hour with them as you observe how they interact, take care of the young ones, play, and feed.
After trek back to the headquarters for your certificate then return to the lodge.
