Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Lake Bunyonyi
This Safari takes you on the most adventurous tour to Bwindi impenetrable national park found in South Western Uganda and Lake Bunyonyi. Bwindi impenetrable National Park is the home half of the world’s largest population of endangered mountain gorillas living in the misty jungles and among these gorillas, there are habituated gorillas that are visited during gorilla trekking activities.
Lake Bunyonyi the deepest Lake in Africa is another destination you are to visit on this tour, the lake consists of numerous islands which you will visit during the boat ride.

You will be picked up from your hotel in Kampala and transferred to South Western Uganda heading to Bwindi impenetrable national park, on this journey of 9 hours you will have a stopover at the Equator Crossing Kayabwe – Masaka for the photography session and another stopover in Mbarara for lunch.
Arrive in the park in the evening, check into your lodge for dinner, and overnight as you prepare for mountain gorilla trekking the highlight of this safari.

You will wake up early for breakfast at exactly 06:30 am and with your packed lunch you will transfer to the park’s headquarters for a briefing session at 07:30 am; you will join other trekkers in the briefing where you will be taken through
rules and regulations to follow while in the forests of Bwindi and what to expect.
You will be grouped into 8 people, assigned a gorilla family to trek, and then hike into the forests of Bwindi looking for mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking takes approximately 2-8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night, the experience is very demanding as it involves trekking through the hilly and steeply forested landscape. When you find the gorillas, you will be amazed by their huge size and calm nature, you are permitted one hour in the presence of the gorillas while taking pictures and watching their amazing behaviors such as female gorillas taking care of their young ones, wandering and playing tree branches, picking fruits and also take pictures. After the experience, you will trek back to the park’s headquarters where you will be rewarded with gorilla trekking certificates, exit the park and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi driving through the terraced green hills of Kisoro referred to as The Switzerland of Uganda.
Lake Bunyonyi is one of the beautiful tourist spots in western Uganda and is
the second deepest lake in Africa at 900 meters deep, the lake is a great spot for swimming as it has Bilharzia-free waters.
When you arrive at the lake, you will check into your lodge and go for a nature walk around the lake or take a swim in the calm cool waters of the lake. In the night hours, you will have a fire at your lodge. Have dinner and stay overnight.

Wake up early for breakfast and head to Lake Bunyonyi for a boat ride exploring several islands found in the lake, together with a guide you will sail on the calm of waters as he narrates to you the beautiful stories and legends behind each and every island. One of the eye-catching islands is The Punishment Island where the Bakiga Tribe used to abandon girls who got pregnant before marriage which was a bad omen; these girls were left to die since they could not swim.
However, they were sometimes rescued by their boyfriends or bachelors who did not want to pay the bride price. These islands inhabit birds and small mammals which you will encounter, after the experience the Zip lining crosses to Lake Bunyonyi, and then head back to the hotel for relaxation.

After breakfast, check out and embark on a journey back to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara for lunch.
