Enjoy a short but exciting safari to Amboseli and Tsavo West. Amboseli is famous for its elephants and views of Mount Kilimanjaro, while Tsavo West is known for its wild landscapes, springs, and lava rocks. The trip starts and ends in Mombasa with smooth SGR train travel and wonderful game drives using 4 X 4 safari landcruisers.
Amboseli National Park and Tsavo West National Park offer two of the country’s most unforgettable safari experiences. Amboseli, known as the “Land of Giants,” is world-famous for its large elephant herds set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Visitors enjoy incredible game drives, scenic landscapes, and cultural encounters with the Maasai people. Just a few hours away lies Tsavo West, a land of dramatic beauty featuring volcanic hills, lava flows, and the crystal-clear Mzima Springs. It’s home to the Big Five, a protected rhino sanctuary, and the mysterious Shetani Lava Flow—making it a perfect destination for those seeking adventure, wildlife, and serenity in equal measure.

You will be picked from your hotel in Mombasa or Diani and taken to the SGR station. From here, you take the train to Emali, where your driver will meet you. You then drive to Amboseli National Park and check in at your lodge. After lunch, you go for your first game drive to see elephants, lions, and many other animals with Mount Kilimanjaro in the background. Dinner and overnight stay will be in Amboseli.

The day starts early with a morning game drive to see animals when they are most active and to enjoy clear views of Kilimanjaro. After breakfast at the lodge, you can relax or choose to visit a Maasai village (at an extra cost) to learn about their culture. In the afternoon, you take another game drive across Amboseli’s swamps and open plains. You return in the evening for dinner and a second night in Amboseli.

After breakfast, you leave Amboseli and drive to Tsavo West National Park. You arrive in time for lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, you go for a game drive to explore the park. You will visit Mzima Springs, famous for hippos and crocodiles, and see the dramatic lava rocks and landscapes. Later, you return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay in Tsavo West.

After an early breakfast, you enjoy a short game enroute drive as you leave Tsavo West. Your driver then drops you at Mtito Andei SGR station, where you take the train back to Mombasa. At the station, you will be met and transferred back to your hotel in Mombasa or Diani. This ends your safari with wonderful memories of Amboseli and Tsavo West.
